Everyday KOLKATA

The 'City of Joy' is famous for its dynamic bazaars (Tiretta Bazaar, College Square, Sealdah Bazaar to name a few), Hooghly river ghat, historically significant streets with tramways and much more. Explore the city through the lens of its residents who talk about everyday spaces defined by tea vendors, paan vendors putting up stalls and shading elements that act as 'addas'. Hear the experience of walking in the Salt Lake neighbourhood and know what defines the sense of safety for women in the city.

Since we had quite a few respondents for the topics in the Share What You Know section, we have analyzed the data for the city of Kolkata that are presented below.

Sharvani is a chartered accountancy student who lives in the ‘Salt Lake’ area of Kolkata. She shares that this neighborhood has ample parks and describes the one she prefers for her morning walks. On a general note, she suggests that the Hooghly river ghat has the potential to become a major attraction for Kolkata.
